What Is That?

My wife has always loved to try new dishes.  Once in Chesapeake, Ohio, she was trying a dish of sausages and apples.  If you have not tried it, then you don't know what you have missed!

She made this in a casserole dish and baked it in the oven.  It looked so good when she brought it out of the oven, and it smelled even better.  Now, you must know that this was at the time when the hostage crisis was going on in Iran.

When we all sat down to eat, my three boys looked at this new dish and wondered what it was.  My middle son, David, said, "What is that?"  I said, "It is sausages."  He said, "Ostriches?"  My oldest son, Scottie, said in a pretty rough voice "No, they're Hostages!"
