The Place Where I’ve Gone

The world is a great and wonderful place;
Its scenes are grand and sublime,
But all the way through that wonderful world
I knew that it could not be mine.
I knew that one day I would have to depart
And leave all my loved ones behind.
I knew they’d be sad and weep for their loss
And words impossible to find.
But you must remember as you think of my parting
That, despite my love for you all,
I had to continue my eternal trek
And answer my great Savior’s call.
The place where I’ve gone gives peace and great joy;
Its company hard to compare.
I’ll be here forever and wait for you all
To see the new clothes that I wear.
The place where I’ve gone is glorious and grand;
The angels all know me by name.
When you come later to celestial shores,
They’ll recognize you just the same.
The place where I’ve gone is so inviting,
The Spirit and the Bride say "Come."
There is no darkness or shadow of night;
The brightest thing here is God’s Son.
So tell all your friends to make preparation
By faith in our marvelous Lord.
The place where I’ve gone removes every doubt
That God is true to his Word.
