 'Tis sad to see a lost man die
Who in his life he laid not by
In store for him those heav'nly things
Of which the Heavenly chorus sings.

 So sad to see a man leave earth
Who has not from his lowly birth
Seen himself a man of sin
And could not stay away from gin.

 How desperate is a life of sin
The carnal things of life to win,
But then at death it all is vain.
It all is loss and never gain.

 Poor family's hearts as tears flow down
Because the man no Gospel found.
But praise to God the message giv'n,
And all the praise will go to Heaven.
